UK Horse
Racing Betting System – A Glimpse of Tote
Betting
A popular form of horse
racing system is tote betting, wherein a collective
group of individuals place their bet into a pool and the
winner gets the lot. The good thing about this particular
type of betting system, which is very common among the
UK’s horse racing scene, is that your small investment
can have a very promising return.
For the Tote, two important factors
determine how much the payout will be: how many picked
the winner and how many people have placed their bet.
Hence, I will discuss some of the various types of tote
bets available.
The most popular form of horse race betting
is to pick the winner. In Tote Win, you have a minimum
bet of £2 for your selection. If you are watching the
race live, it is easy to keep track of your potential
payout as the tote pool is constantly being updated in
the screen on the venue.
A variation of this form of betting system
is the ‘each way bet’. You have to pick two horses to bet
on: one for the winner and the other to be placed or to
finish among the top 3 ranks by the end of the race. The
minimum bet remains at £2 but this time you have to bet
£1 for each of your pick.
If you want higher chances of winning, UK
horse racing has a reliable form of betting system called
Tote Place Betting. You have to pick the 1st,
2nd and 3rd finishers in the race.
But if the race has 16 or more runners, you can still bet
for a 4th. Meanwhile, if the race is run by 8
horses or less, then you can still win if you bet on the
1st and 2nd placers. The downside
to this type of tote betting is that there is lesser
payout for you, as opposed to choosing the
winner.
As in most forms of horse racing betting
system, picking two horses that will finish
1st and 2nd in a specific order is
also part of UK’s betting system. This is known as Tote
Exacta, which is more commonly known as forecast betting
to horse racing enthusiasts. The minimum stake for each
selection remains at £2.
In Tote Trifecta, you pick 3 horses that
could potentially finish 1st, 2nd
and 3rd in no particular order. This only
applies to races that are run by 8 or more horses. And as
if that isn’t difficult enough, some punters would pick 3
horses to finish 1st, 2nd and
3rd in a specific order. However, this form of
betting system can have enormous payouts for those
willing to take the risk.
With slight variations for each type of
system, the different forms of UK horse racing betting
system has added new challenges and excitement to the
horse racing arena.
